Welcome to the DIY Bridal newsletter!

Firstly, let me thank you for signing up to receive this weekly newsletter about all things DIY weddings. Being able to share ideas and create useful content is one of the reasons I got into the wedding business in the first place - so it’s fab to have you on board ready to share in the top tips and DIY tricks I have to offer you in these newsletters. 

So let me share a bit about myself

My name’s Tony and I’m a wedding photographer based in Kent, England. When me and my wife got married, we couldn’t believe how much everything seemed to cost when it came to pretty much all aspects of our wedding day! When we added everything up - the venue, decorations, food, drink, photographer, invites, save the dates and so on - we realised that we were looking at spending well over £15,000 on a single day of our lives! 

It’s actually quite crazy, when you think about it!

So we put our thinking caps on and began to brainstorm what we could do to bring down that cost as low as possible. The unfortunate reality for us was that we had to spend money on our venue, food and photographer - these were the only areas of our wedding where we were not prepared to ‘do it ourselves’.

Everything else? Yup - we rolled up our sleeves and got ready to create our decorations, invites, save the dates and pretty much everything else with our own hands!

In the end - we pulled it off. Our day was magical and no one would have known that we didn’t pay a professional to create many of the different aspects of our wedding day. However, it wasn’t an easy journey. We made mistakes along the way, learned tricks and tips and came up with ideas as we went. In the end … it was actually a heck of a lot of fun! So much so that it was actually really sad when it was all over and we didn’t need to create DIY ideas anymore.

Which is what this newsletter is really all about!

My aim is to pass on some of mine and my wife’s ideas to help inspire you and hopefully save you money along the way! I’ll be sharing what went well, what didn’t work out and as many tips and tricks as I can to help you create your perfect DIY wedding day on a budget.

It’s a crazy ride when you set out to build your wedding from scratch - but it’s so worth it in the end!
